The 'Skookumchuck'
A one hour (2.5 mile) level hike through the spectacular West Coast forest ends at the swiftly flowing, swirling, Skookumchuck Rapids, where Kayakers from around the world challenge the oceans's fierce currents. On a three meter tide change, 200 billion gallons of water flow through the narrows of Sechelt Inlet creating currents faster than 30 km per hour.
